If you are a producer of waste electronic or electrical equipment you must join a producer compliance scheme and register with your environmental regulator. Failure to join a scheme could result in prosecution and a fine.
The Producer Compliance Scheme (PSC) will arrange to deal with household waste electronic or electrical equipment on the producer's behalf, but will not finance the cost of collection, treatment, recovery and disposal of WEEE if it is equivalent to the amount of EEE that you place on the UK market.
Different returns and financial arrangements apply for non-household equipment because they have to be taken to an appropriately licenced site where it can be handled safely.
Business users of EEE that choose to deal with their WEEE itself must ensure it is properly handled.
